Description:
HyClone AdvanceSTEM ES Qualified Amino Acids have been optimized for growth of embryonic cell cultures. Providing optimal culture conditions can be one of the greatest challenges in stem cell research, particularly in keeping cells in an undifferentiated state or directing differentiation when desired. HyClone AdvanceSTEM line of stem cell culture products can help you meet those challenges. Classic culture conditions for 129-derived murine embryonic stem cells (mESCs) include culturing in medium containing DMEM, FBS, LIF and co-culturing with primary mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs).

Description:
Members of the class-III pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family, such as AGXT2, catalyze the conversion of glyoxylate to glycine using L-alanine as the amino donor. AGXT2 protects from asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA)-induced inhibition in nitric oxide (NO) production. Elevated blood concentrations of ADMA, a methyl derivate of the amino acid arginine and an endogenous inhibitor of nitric oxide (NO) synthase, is produced by the physiological degradation of methylated proteins and is found in association with diabetes, hypertension, congestive heart failure and atherosclerosis. AGXT2L2 (alanine-glyoxylate aminotransferase 2-like 2) is a 450 amino acid pyridoxal phosphate that exists as a homotetramer. Belonging to the class-III pyridoxal-phosphate-dependent aminotransferase family, AGXT2L2 localizes to the mitochondria and exists as three alternatively spliced isoforms. Encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 5q35.3, AGXT2L2 may have similar functions as AGXT2.

Description:
PLM (FXYD1)is a member of a family of small membrane proteins that share a 35-amino acid signature sequence domain, beginning with the sequence PFXYD and containing 7 invariant and 6 highly conserved amino acids. FXYD2, also known as the gamma subunit of the Na,K-ATPase, regulates the properties of that enzyme. FXYD1 (phospholemman), FXYD2 (gamma), FXYD3 (MAT-8), FXYD4 (CHIF), and FXYD5 (RIC) have been shown to induce channel activity in experimental expression systems. PLM may be phosphorylated by several kinases, including protein kinase A, protein kinase C, NIMA kinase, and myotonic dystrophy kinase. It is thought to form an ion channel or regulate ion channel activity.

Description:
C Peptide is part of the molecule of Proinsulin, that consists of three parts: C Peptide and two long strands of amino acids (called the alpha and beta chains) that later become linked together to form the insulin molecule. From every molecule of proinsulin, one molecule of insulin plus one molecule of C Peptide are produced. C peptide is released into the blood stream in equal amounts to insulin. A test of C peptide levels will show how much insulin the body is making. Insulin decreases blood glucose concentration. It increases cell permeability to monosaccharides, amino acids and fatty acids. It accelerates glycolysis, the pentose phosphate cycle, and glycogen synthesis in liver.

Description:
Salusins are multifunctional bioactive peptides discovered by bioinformatics analyses of a full-length cDNA library. Salusin alpha and salusin beta are related peptides of 28 and 20 amino acids that were recently characterized. These peptides are considered to be biosynthesized from preprosalusin, an alternative-splicing product of the torsion dystonia-related gene (TOR2A), after frameshift reading and digestion at dibasic amino acids. Salusin alpha has recently been shown to be involved in atherosclerosis; it potently suppresses acyl-CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase-1 which stores cholesterol ester converted from free cholesterol in macrophages, thereby reducing human macrophage foam cell formation.

Description:
ENA-78 is a CXC chemokine that signals through the CXCR2 receptor. It is expressed in monocytes, platelets, endothelial cells, and mast cells. ENA-78 is a chemoattractant for neutrophils. Three N-terminal truncated variants of human ENA-78; ENA 5-78, ENA 8-78, ENA 9-78, contain 74, 71, and 70 amino acid residues, respectively, possess increased biological activity. ENA-78 contains the four conserved cysteine residues present in CXC chemokines, and also contains the ‘ELR’ motif common to CXC chemokine that bind to the CXCR1 and CXCR2 receptors. Recombinant Human ENA-78 (CXCL5) is a 7.8 kDa protein consisting of 71 amino acid residues.
