Description:   WD-repeats are motifs that are found in a variety of proteins and are characterized by a conserved core of 40-60 amino acids that commonly form a tertiary propeller structure. While proteins that contain WD-repeats participate in a wide range of cellular functions, they are generally involved in regulatory mechanisms concerning chromatin assembly, cell cycle control, signal transduction, RNA processing, apoptosis and vesicular trafficking. WDR23 (WD-repeat-containing protein 23), also known as GL014 or PRO2389, is a 546 amino acid protein that contains seven WD-repeats. WDR23 is expressed as three isoforms due to alternative splicing events.

Description:   YPEL1 Antibody: YPEL1 (yippee-like 1) is thought to play a role in the epitheloid conversion of fibroblasts and the regulation of the cellular morphology. It is a 119 amino acid protein that localizes to the nucleus and belongs to a family of yippee-like proteins that include YPEL2 - 5, all of which localize to the centrosome and nucleus and are widely expressed in both adult and fetal tissue. The family of human YPEL proteins share a high degree of sequence homology with their rodent homologs, suggesting a conserved function between species. YPEL1 might be an important factor during the development and malignant transformation of tissues.

Description:   Bicine is an organic compound used as a buffering agent. It is a zwitterionic buffer and one of the Good's buffers . It is prepared by the reaction ofglycine with ethylene oxide, followed by hydrolysis of the resultant lactone. It is a recommended buffer for low temperature biochemical work. Used for the preparation of stable substrate solution for serum guanase determination.

Description:   Cyclophilins belong to a group of proteins that have peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase activity; such proteins are collectively known as immunophilins and also include the FK-506-binding proteins and the parvulins. Cyclophilins are found in all cells of all organisms studied, in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Human have a total of 16 cyclophilin proteins. Cyclophilins also have varying degrees of affinity for the immunosuppressive drug Cyclosporine A (CsA), a cyclic 11-amino-acid peptide produced by fungus Tolypocladium infantum. Cyclophilin A, in particular, is the major intracellular receptor for CsA. Cyclophilin A (CYPA) is the first member of the cyclophilins to be identified in mammals. Human genes of CYPA, also known as Cyp18, are located on chromosome 7p11.2-p13 and encode the protein, which consists of 165 amino acid residues with a relative molecular mass approximately 18 kDa. Human CYPA has an eight-stranded antiparallel β-barrel structure, with two α-helices enclosing the barrel from either side. Seven aromatic and other hydrophobic residues form a compact hydrophobic core within the barrel, usually in the area where CsA binds. A loop from Lys118 ti His126 and four β-strands (β3-β6) make up the binding site for CsA. In mammals, the CsA-CYPA complex binds to and inhibits calcineurin, a calcium-calmodulin-activated serine/threonine-specific protein phosphatase. The inhibition of calcineurin blocks the translocation of nuclear factor of activated T cells from the cytosol to the nucleus, thus preventing the transcription of genes encoding cytokines such as interleukin-2.

Description:   The tripartite motif (TRIM) family of proteins are characterized by a conserved TRIM domain that includes a coiled-coil region, a B-box type zinc finger, one RING finger and three zinc-binding domains. Staf-50 (50 kDa-stimulated trans-acting factor), also known as TRIM22 (tripartite motif-containing 22), RNF94 or GPSTAF50, is a 498 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that belongs to the TRIM family and, characteristic of TRIM family members, contains one RING-type zinc finger, one B box-type zinc finger and one SPRY domain. Induced by IFN-Ã¥ and IFN-∫, Staf-50 is strongly expressed in ovary, spleen, thymus and peripheral blood leukocytes where it is thought to mediate the antiviral effects of IFN proteins. Additionally, Staf-50 is present in leukemic cells, suggesting a role in cancer formation and metastasis. Staf-50 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms which are encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 11.

Description:   Siglecs are sialic acid-binding lectins of the immunoglobulin superfamily that are mainly expressed in cells of the hematopoietic system. Siglec11 is unlike other siglecs in that it binds specifically to alpha2-8-linked sialic acids and is not found in peripheral blood leukocytes but instead on macrophages of various tissues. Siglec11 is highly homologous to Siglec10 over their extracellular domain but not over their cytoplasmic domain, suggesting that Siglec11 arose through gene duplication followed by a recombination event involving another ancestral siglec gene. Following treatment of Siglec11-transfected cells with pervanadate, Siglec11 becomes tyrosine-phosphorylated and strongly associates with SHP-1 and SHP-2. At least five isoforms of Siglec11 are known to exist. Siglec11 antibody will not cross-react with Siglec10.

Description:   LGP2 Antibody: Anti-viral innate immune responses are triggered by pathogen-associated molecular patters (such as the accumulation of intracellular nucleic acids resulting from virus infections) and represent the first line of defense against numerous infectious organisms. The Toll-like receptors (TLR) 3, 7, 8, and 9 are expressed in immune cells and function as transmembrane pattern recognition receptors to detect foreign nucleic acids. Other proteins that play similar roles, such as RIG-1 and MDA5 are members of a CARD-helicase family and are expressed in the cytoplasm. A third protein, LGP2, is similar to RIG-1 and MDA5, except for lacking a homologous CARD domain. It is thought to act as an element of negative-feedback regulation of intracellular antiviral signaling. At least four isoforms of LGP2 are known to exist.
