Description:
Interleukin-27 receptor subunit alpha ( IL27RA) is also known as Cytokine receptor WSX-1, Cytokine receptor-like 1, Type I T-cell cytokine receptor (TCCR), ZcytoR1, IL27RA belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family and type 2 subfamily. IL27RA contains three fibronectin type-III domains. IL27RA is highly expressed in lymphoid tissues such as spleen, lymph nodes and peripheral blood leukocytes. IL27RA is receptor for IL27, but requires IL6ST/gp130 to mediate signal transduction in response to IL27. IL27RA involved in the regulation of Th1-type immune responses. IL27RA also appears to be involved in innate defense mechanisms.

Description:
Cytochrome C (CYCS) is a small heme protein that belongs to the cytochrome c family. It is found loosely associated with the inner membrane of the mitochondrion. Cytochrome C is a highly soluble protein that functions as a central component of the electron transport chain in mitochondria. CYCS transfers electrons between Complexes III (Coenzyme Q - Cyt C reductase) and IV (Cyt C oxidase). CYCS plays a role in apoptosis. Suppression of the anti-apoptotic members or activation of the pro-apoptotic members of the Bcl-2 family leads to altered mitochondrial membrane permeability resulting in release of cytochrome c into the cytosol. Binding of Cytochrome C to Apaf-1 triggers the activation of caspase-9, which then accelerates apoptosis by activating other caspases.

Description:
CYP2R1 is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are mono-oxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This enzyme is a microsomal vitamin D hydroxylase that converts vitamin D into the active ligand for the vitamin D receptor.Defects in CYP2R1 are a cause of 25-hydroxyvitamin D(3) deficiency, also known as pseudovitamin D(3) deficiency rickets due to 25-hydroxylase deficiency. First described in patients who had rickets at a young age despite a history of adequate vitamin D intake. The patients sera had low calcium concentrations, low phosphate concentrations, elevated alkaline phosphatase activity and low levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D.

PTPRD Antibody: PTPRD (Protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type D) is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family that plays diverse roles during development including cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle and oncogenic transformation. PTPRD contains an extracellular region, a single transmembrane segment and two tandem intracytoplasmic catalytic domains. The extracellular region of PTPRD is composed of three Ig-like and eight fibronectin type III-like domains (1,3). PTPRD interacts with PPFIA1-3 and is a tumor suppressor on chromosome 9p that is involved in the development of glioblastoma multiforme (GBMs) and multiple human cancers.

Description:
The class III type phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3KC3) / Vps34 regulates vacuolar trafficking as well as autophagy. UVRAG (UV radiation resistance-associated gene) is associated with the Beclin-1/PI3KC3 complex and promotes PI3KC3 enzymatic activity and autophagy, while suppressing proliferation. UVRAG is highly expressed in brain, lung, kidney and liver and contains one C2 domain, which is involved in calcium-dependent phospholipid binding. Beclin-1 binding to UVRAG promotes both autophagosome maturation and endocytic trafficking. UVRAG is also a potential tumor suppressor protein with frameshift mutations observed in colon and gastric carcinomas.

Description:
This intronless gene encodes a 70kDa heat shock protein which is a member of the heat shock protein 70 family. In conjuction with other heat shock proteins, this protein stabilizes existing proteins against aggregation and mediates the folding of newly translated proteins in the cytosol and in organelles. It is also involved in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway through interaction with the AU-rich element RNA-binding protein 1. The gene is located in the major histocompatibility complex class III region, in a cluster with two closely related genes which encode similar proteins.

Description:
The 50 kDa type III intermediate filament protein glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) is a major structural component of astrocytes. GFAP associates with the calcium binding protein annexin II-p2 and S-100. Association with these proteins together with phosphorylation regulates GFAP polymerization. Astroycytes respond to brain injury by proliferatin (astrogliosis), and one of the first events to occur during astrocyte proiliferation is increased GFAP expression. Interestingly, antibodies to GFAP have been detected in individuals with dementia. Anti-GFAP is ideal for investigators involved in Neuroscience Research, including Alexander Disease, Oligodendroglioma, Cytoskleton Remolding Neurofilaments and PIP3/AKT Signaling.

Description:
The autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxias (ADCA) are a heterogeneous group of neurodegenerative disorders characterized by progressive degeneration of the cerebellum, brain stem and spinal cord. Clinically, ADCA has been divided into three groups: ADCA types I-III. ATX2 belongs to the autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxias type I (ADCA I) which are characterized by cerebellar ataxia in combination with additional clinical features like optic atrophy, ophthalmoplegia, bulbar and extrapyramidal signs, peripheral neuropathy and dementia. ATX2 is caused by expansion of a CAG repeat in the coding region of ATX2. Longer expansions result in earlier onset of the disease. There are four named isoforms.

Description:
Hemangioblast MarkerVascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a major growth factor for endothelial cells. This gene encodes one of the two receptors of the VEGF. This receptor, known as kinase insert domain receptor, is a type III receptor tyrosine kinase. It functions as the main mediator of VEGF-induced endothelial proliferation, survival, migration, tubular morphogenesis and sprouting. The signalling and trafficking of this receptor are regulated by multiple factors, including Rab GTPase, P2Y purine nucleotide receptor, integrin alphaVbeta3, T-cell protein tyrosine phosphatase, etc.. Mutations of this gene are implicated in infantile capillary hemangiomas. [provided by RefSeq, May 2009].
