IFN-γ is an acid-labile interferon produced by CD4 and CD8 T lymphocytes, as well as activated NK cells. IFN-γ receptors are present in most immune cells, which respond to IFN-γ signaling by increasing the surface expression of class I MHC proteins. This promotes the presentation of antigen to T-helper (CD4+) cells. IFN-γ signaling in antigen-presenting, cells and antigen-recognizing B and T lymphocytes, regulates the antigen-specific phases of the immune response. Additionally, IFN-γ stimulates a number of lymphoid cell functions, including the anti-microbial and anti-tumor responses of macrophages, NK cells, and neutrophils. Human IFN-γ is species-specific and is biologically active only in human and primate cells. Recombinant Murine IFN-γ is a 15.6 kDa protein containing 134 amino acid residues. Manufactured using all Animal-Free reagents.

Glutaraldehyde is a bifunctional protein cross-linking reagent, reacting with NH2 groups to form Schiff's bases.
Sporicidal agent. Glutaraldehyde reacts through cross-linking to impart water resistance to protein and polyhydroxy compounds. It is also a reducing agent for photochemicals. In organic syntheses, the reactive carbonyl groups of glutaraldehyde suggest its use as an intermediate for the production of resins, dyestuffs, and pharmaceuticals. Glutaraldehyde is a disinfectant, which is rapidly effective against vegetative forms of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is also effective against acid-fast bacteria, bacterial spores, some fungi and viruses, including hepatitis B virus and human immunodeficiency virus. LIF is a pleiotrophic factor produced by multiple cell types, including T cells, myelomonocytic lineages, fibroblasts, liver, heart and melanoma. LIF promotes long-term maintenance of embryonic stem cells by suppressing spontaneous differentiation. Other activities include the stimulation of acute phase protein synthesis by hepatocytes, stimulation of differentiation of cholinergic nerves, and suppression of adipogenesis by inhibiting the lipoprotein lipase in adipocytes. While human LIF is active on mouse cells and is widely used in the maintenance of murine ESC to prevent spontaneous differentiation, mouse LIF is not active on human cells due to its inability to bind to the human LIF receptor. Recombinant Human LIF is a 19.6 kDa protein containing 180 amino acids residues, including three disulfide bonds. Manufactured using all Animal-Free reagents.
