Description:
Cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI or MTCO1) is one of three mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) encoded subunits (MTCO1, MTCO2, MTCO3) of respiratory Complex IV. Complex IV is located within the mitochondrial inner membrane and is the third and final enzyme of the electron transport chain of mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation. Complex IV is composed of 13 polypeptides. Subunits I, II, and III (MTCO1, MTCO2, MTCO3) are encoded by mtDNA while subunits IV, Va, Vb, VIa, VIb, VIc, VIIa, VIIb, VIIc, and VIII are nuclear encoded. Mammalian MTCO1 has 12 membrane-spanning alpha-helices (I to XII).

Description:
Murine CD72.1 (Lyb-2.1), a type II integral membrane glycoprotein and a member of the C-lectin family of cell surface receptors, is a differentiation antigen of B cells and is found in mouse strains expressing the Lyb-2.1 allotype. CD72.1 is the ligand of CD5 which is distributed on all T cells and a small number of B cells. The 10.1.D2 monoclonal antibody blocks binding of CD5 to CD72 on the B cell surface which leads to inhibition of the positive signal resulting from CD5/CD72 pairing. However, 10.1.D2 can itself trigger a positive signal by binding CD72.

Description:
Has a role in maintaining calcium homeostasis. Catalyzes the NADPH-dependent 24-hydroxylation of calcidiol (25-hydroxyvitamin D(3)) and calcitriol (1-alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3)). The enzyme can perform up to 6 rounds of hydroxylation of calcitriol leading to calcitroic acid. It also shows 23-hydroxylating activity leading to 1-alpha,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3)-26,23-lactone as end product.

Description:
RuBisCO catalyzes two reactions: the carboxylation of D-ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate, the primary event in carbon dioxide fixation, as well as the oxidative fragmentation of the pentose substrate in the photorespiration process. Both reactions occur simultaneously and in competition at the same active site.Sequence similarities: Belongs to the RuBisCO large chain family. Type I subfamily.Post-translational modifications: The disulfide bond which can form between Cys-247 in the large chain dimeric partners within the hexadecamer appears to be associated with oxidative stress and protein turnover (By similarity). The disulfide bonds reported in 1RBO may be the result of oxidation during crystallization.
