Ammonium molybdate can be prepared by dissolving molybdenum trioxide in ammonia.Ammonium molybdate has been used to prepare phosphomolybdates. (NH4)2MoO4 was used as an analytical reagent for quantitative analysis of phosphates, silicates, arsenates and lead in their aqueous solutions.2 At saturated concentration, (NH4)2MoO4 was used to perform cryo-negative staining and as a negative stain in biological electron microscopy.Ammonium molybdate was used in study of crystallisation of cell-free-expressed membrane proteins. Description:
GMPPB is a 360 amino acid protein that belongs to the transferase hexapeptide repeat family and is involved in protein modification pathways. Functioning as a GDP-mannose pyrophosphorylase, GMPPB enzymatically catalyzes the conversion of mannose-1-phosphate and GTP to GDP-mannose and a free phosphate, a reaction that is involved in the production of N-linked oligosaccharides. Defects in the gene encoding GMPPB that cause errors in the glycosylation pathway may lead to congenital disorders of glycosylation (CDG). CDGs are multisystemic diseases that often involve both the central and peripheral nervous systems and are often characterized by endocrine and coagulation disorders. GMPPB is expressed as two isoforms due to alternative splicing events.

Description:
Transaldolase 1 is a key enzyme of the nonoxidative pentose phosphate pathway providing ribose-5-phosphate for nucleic acid synthesis and NADPH for lipid biosynthesis. This pathway can also maintain glutathione at a reduced state and thus protect sulfhydryl groups and cellular integrity from oxygen radicals. The functional gene of transaldolase 1 is located on chromosome 11 and a pseudogene is identified on chromosome 1 but there are conflicting map locations. The second and third exon of this gene were developed by insertion of a retrotransposable element. This gene is thought to be involved in multiple sclerosis.

Description:
D-Fructose-1,6-bisphosphate (FBP), a common metabolic sugar, is the precursor of glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate in the glycolytic pathway. It is an allosteric activator of enzymes such as pyruvate kinase and a substrate used to identify and characterize enzymes such as fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase(s) and fructose-1, 6-bisphosphatase(s). FBP is studied as a neuroprotective agent in brain injury.
