Description:   CLN6, a 311 amino acid protein, has seven predicted transmembrane domains and is conserved across vertebrates. The CLN6 protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum but contributes to lysosomal function. Mutations in the CLN6 gene cause variant late-onset infantile neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (vLINCL), a lysosomal storage disorder marked by progressive mental deterioration and blindness; part of a group of severe inherited neurodegenerative disorders affecting children wherein lysosomes accumulate storage material, causing the death of neurons. CLN6 is one of eight proteins, including CLN1-8, that are associated with NCL.

Description:   Murine CD79 is a disulfide-linked heterodimer composed of an α chain (CD79a) and a β chain (CD79b) that associates non-covalently with membrane immunoglobulin (Ig) to form the B cell receptor (BCR) complex. Its expression is restricted to B lymphocytes first appearing on the surface at the pro-B cell stage prior to productive Ig gene rearrangements and remaining through all stages of B-cell differentiation prior to plasma cells. It has been proposed that the CD79 complex on pro-B cell surfaces may function to induce early B-cell differentiation.

Description:   Isotype matched controls are useful in flow cytometry to determine a gross estimate of non-specific binding that may be observed with a specific antibody of interest. In general, an isotype control should be of the same species and isotype as the antibody of interest, used at the same concentration, and conjugated to the same fluorophore. This reagent is an IgG1 isotype mouse monoclonal antibody (Clone # MOPC-21), conjugated to FITC. It is intended for use as an isotype control antibody for flow cytometry.

Description:   Chicken CD28 antigen is a type I transmembrane monomeric glycoprotein which does not contain the cysteine residues that form disulfide-linked covalent homodimers found in the mammalian counterpart. This may reduce the avidity of binding to individual ligand molecules expected to be present on antigen presenting cells. Peripheral γδ+ T cells are CD28 negative. Monoclonal antibodies against CD28 have a costimulatory effect on T cells stimulated by phorbol myristate acetate (PMA), concanavalin A, or monoclonal antibodies against the avian T cell receptor (TCR). Both Vβ1- and Vβ2-expressing cells respond equally well to stimulation with anti-CD28 in combination with PMA. These responses are resistant to cyclosporin A but inhibited by herbimycin A suggesting that CD28 employs a signaling pathway at least partly distinct from that triggered by TCR/CD3. The monoclonal antibody AV7 also reacts with turkey CD28 as demonstrated by flow cytometry.

Description:   The product of this gene is a mitogen induced GTPase activating protein (GAP). It exhibits a specific GAP activity for Ras-related regulatory proteins Rap1 and Rap2, but not for Ran or other small GTPases. This protein may also hamper mitogen-induced cell cycle progression when abnormally or prematurely expressed. It is localized to the perinuclear region. Two alternatively spliced variants encoding the same isoform have been characterized to date.

Description:   CD3ε, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors, is comprised of five invariable chain ranging in size from 16-28 kDa and is closely associated with the T cell antigen receptor (TCR). It is expressed on all T cells of all mouse strains. CD3 plays a major role in signaling during antigen recognition, leading to T-cell activation. The monoclonal antibody C363.29B recognizes an epitope on the 25 kDa ε chain of the CD3/TCR complex. In the presence of Fc receptor-bearing accessory cells, soluble C363.29B can activate primed and naïve T cell in vitro. Immobilized C363.2B9 monoclonal antibody can also activate both normal T lymphocytes and cloned T cell lines provided the appropriate accessory signals are present. The monoclonal antibody is cytolytic, easily used for cell surface staining, and a good immunoprecipitating antibody.

Description:   The monoclonal antibody BB6-10A10 stains the following percentages of surface immunoglobulin (sIg) positive cells in porcine lymphoid tissues - 11-15% in peripheral blood, 22-23% in mesenteric lymph nodes, 79-87% in ileal Peyer’s patches (ILPP), 6-17 in spleen, and 0% in thymus. While identification of the antigen(s) that are found predominantly on ILPP B cells and which are recognized by BB6-10A10 is speculative, the antibody appears to react with an immature population of B cells in the follicles of ILPPs and with a subpopulation of sIglow B cells in lymph nodes.

Description:   This gene encodes one of seven subunits of the human Arp2/3 protein complex. The Arp2/3 protein complex has been implicated in the control of actin polymerization in cells and has been conserved through evolution. The exact role of the protein encoded by this gene, the p16 subunit, has yet to be determined. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been observed for this gene

Description:   Whole IgG antibodies are isolated as intact molecules from antisera by immunoaffinity chromatography. They have an Fc portion and two antigen binding Fab portions joined together by disulfide bonds and therefore they are divalent. The average molecular weight is reported to be about 160 kDa. The whole IgG form of antibodies is suitable for the majority of immunodetection procedures and is the most cost effective. Based on immunoelectrophoresis and/or ELISA, the antibody reacts with whole molecule goat IgG. It also reacts with the light chains of other goat immunoglobulins. No antibody was detected against non-immunoglobulin serum proteins. The antibody has been tested by ELISA and/or solid-phase adsorbed to ensure minimal cross-reaction with bovine, chicken, guinea pig, syrian hamster, horse, human, mouse, rabbit and rat serum proteins, but it may cross-react with immunoglobulins from other species.

Description:   This gene encodes a calmodulin- and actin-binding protein that plays an essential role in the regulation of smooth muscle and nonmuscle contraction. The conserved domain of this protein possesses the binding activities to Ca(2+)-calmodulin, actin, tropomyosin, myosin, and phospholipids. This protein is a potent inhibitor of the actin-tropomyosin activated myosin MgATPase, and serves as a mediating factor for Ca(2+)-dependent inhibition of smooth muscle contraction. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms..

Description:   The RM4-5 antibody reacts with mouse CD4, a 55 kDa protein which acts as a co-receptor for the T cell receptor (TCR) in its interaction with MHC Class II molecules on antigen-presenting cells. The extracellular domain of CD4 binds to the beta2-domain of MHC Class II, while its cytoplasmic tail provides a binding site for the tyrosine kinase lck, facilitating the signaling cascade that initiates T cell activation. CD4 is typically expressed on thymocytes, certain mature T cell populations such as Th17 and T regulatory (Treg) cells, as well as on dendritic cells.

Description:   FOP, is a 399 amino acid protein that localizes to the centrosome and contains one LisH domain. Expressed ubiquitously with highest expression in kidney, heart, muscle, colon, liver, testis and pancreas, FOP functions as a homodimer that interacts with EB1 and CEP350 and is essential for anchoring microtubules to centrosomes. Chromosomal aberrations that involve the FOP gene are associated with the pathogenesis of stem cell myeloproliferative disorder (MPD), a condition that is characterized by eosinophilia and myeloid hyperplasia and ultimately leads to acute myeloid leukemia. FOP is expressed as multiple isoforms that are produced by alternative splicing events.
