Description:
The chicken major histocompatibility complex (MHC), or B complex, consists of several clusters of highly polymorphic genes. Like their mammalian counterparts, the avian MHC exerts genetic influence over a variety of important biological functions such as immune response, disease resistance, growth and development, aging, and reproduction. Chicken MHC Class II genes, also known as the B-L subregion, of the chicken MHC encode cell surface glycoproteins that are homologous to mammalian Class II antigens. B-L antigens are structurally similar to mammalian Class II molecules in that they are noncovalently bound dimers of one heavy chain and one light chain. MHC Class II is primarily expressed on B cells and antigen presenting cells (APCs).

CD62E represents the 97 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein E-selectin, also known as endothelial-leukocyte adhesion molecule-1 (ELAM-1). It is expressed on cytokine-stimulated endothelium, weakly on unactivated endothelium, and is absent on leukocytes. Like other selectins, CD62E is an adhesion molecule that contributes to the initial attachment and rolling of leukocytes on endothelial surfaces, a prerequisite for leukocyte extravasation into tissues. CD62P is a 140 kDa membrane glycoprotein formerly known as platelet activation-dependent granule membrane protein (PADGEM) or GMP-140. It is expressed on platelets, megakaryocytes, and epithelium. It is thought to mediate the adhesive interactions of neutrophils and monocytes with endothelium in inflammatory responses and of activated platelets to neutrophils and monocytes in hemostasis. The monoclonal antibody 1.2B6 recognizes a common epitope shared by CD62E and CD62P.

Description:
DR5, also known as TRAIL-R2, TRICK2 and KILLER, is a widely expressed type I membrane member of the tumor necrosis (TNF) receptor family. Members of this family contain multiple cysteine-rich repeats in their extracellular domain and while the cytoplasmic region is less conserved, they do contain an intracellular 80 amino acid motif known as the ‘death domain’ (DD). DR5 is a receptor for the cytotoxic ligand TRAIL which induces apoptosis and it is the cytoplasmic DD that is responsible for transducing the death process. DR5 has also been shown to activate NF-κB.
