Description:   This antibody recognizes a 53 kDa protein, which is identified as p53 suppressor gene product. It reacts with the mutant as well as the wild form of p53 under denaturing and non-denaturing conditions. p53 is a tumor suppressor gene expressed in a wide variety of tissue types and is involved in regulating cell growth, replication, and apoptosis. It binds to MDM2, SV40 T antigen and human papilloma virus E6 protein. Positive nuclear staining with p53 antibody has been reported to be a negative prognostic factor in breast carcinoma, lung carcinoma, colorectal, and urothelial carcinoma. Anti-p53 positivity has also been used to differentiate uterine serous carcinoma from endometrioid carcinoma as well as to detect intratubular germ cell neoplasia. Mutations involving p53 are found in a wide variety of malignant tumors, including breast, ovarian, bladder, colon, lung, and melanoma.

CF® dyes are Biotium's next-generation fluorescent dyes. CF®647 is a far-red fluorescent dye (Ex/Em 650/665 nm) with excellent brightness. It also is compatible with super-resolution imaging by STORM.

Description:   FRMPD4 Antibody: The FERM and PDZ domain containing (FRMPD) protein family consists of four proteins that contain a FERM (Four-point-one, erzin, radixin, moesin) domain and at least one PDZ (PSD-95/Discs large/Zonula-occuldens-1) domain. FRMPD4, also known as Preso, also contains another protein interaction domain termed WW (domain with two conserved Trp residues) at its amino terminus. It was identified through a yeast two-hybrid screen using the PDZ domain of PSD-95 as bait and is highly expressed in multiple regions of the brain and is enriched in the postsynaptic density (PSD) fractions. Overexpression of FRMPD4 in cultured hippocampal neurons significantly increased the linear density of dendritic spines without changing their length and width; conversely, knockdown experiments using RNAi caused a decrease in spine density, indicating FRMPD4 positively regulates dendritic spine density but not morphology. The decreased level of FRMPD4 also resulted in reduced levels of excitatory synaptic transmission, suggesting that FRMPD4 is required for maintenance of excitatory synaptic transmission.

CF® dyes are Biotium's next-generation fluorescent dyes. CF®405S is a blue fluorescent dye (Ex/Em 404/431 nm) with superior brightness compared to other blue dyes; it is also compatible with super-resolution imaging by SIM. Note: Conjugates of blue fluorescent dyes are not recommended for detecting low abundance targets, because blue dyes have lower fluorescence and can give higher non-specific background than other dye colors.
